What’s new with Movement Media?
Ursula K. Le Guin | 1929 – 2018
Dear friends & allies,
One of our intentions this year is to re-establish our monthly email newsletter. So, here we are, a new and improved Movement Messenger!
It feels fitting to start by reflecting on some of the work we never got a chance to report on in this form, last year. 2017 was a tremendous year of growth and action for Movement Media and our clients.
Lauren Berlekamp, an experienced media activist of movements for environmental justice and drug policy reform, joined our team full-time last year. Her diligent work ethic and enthusiasm for advocacy and communication have added so much to our operation. As we head into our fifth year in business, our team has only grown, Lauren S., Jazmín, Tom, and Michelle have been with Movement from day one. I’m honored to work with such an amazing group of dedicated media activists.
We kicked off last year with the launch of a new website, designed by Darren Puscas who I met working with the punk rock activist group, Positive Force DC, in the 1990’s. Thanks, Darren! The new site has a new history section, telling the story of how Movement Media came to be. Give it a read if you’re curious about our origins.
This issue, we highlight a handful of projects in 2017 from our work with Dr. Bronner’s; Fair World Project and their new program, Grow Ahead; as well as Vote Hemp and the Hemp Industries Association, all in our In The Works section below. Our In The News section features a sampling of press coverage of our clients and partners in 2017 and in On Our Minds, our team shares some thoughts of note as we head further into the new year.
We’d be honored if you’d take a minute to read the latest from our mission-driven PR team. And please do feel free to be in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
Wishing you all the best on behalf of all of us at Movement Media!
Onwards,
Ryan Fletcher
