Tricia Parker joined Movement Media in 2025. Her work in public relations is driven by the power of language and narrative to improve understanding and drive meaningful change. As a Public Relations Specialist, Tricia facilitates communications and project administration on a variety of strategic initiatives related to global public relations and advocacy work for our clients and partners.
Tricia’s career spans extensive experience as a writer and copy editor, educator, and social justice activist. As a teacher in Arizona schools, she co-sponsored an inaugural Gay Straight Alliance chapter, started a social justice book club for teachers and fought for inclusive curriculum, policies, and spaces. Subscribing to Paulo Freire’s words, “The educator has the duty of not being neutral,” she has been a fervent advocate for other educators, as well as students and their families. Tricia has also worked as a Holocaust educator with the National Writing Project and as a volunteer writing instructor in a federal prison.
Originally from Arizona, Tricia lives with her infinitely handy partner and dogs in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. She is active in local grassroots organizing efforts to fight systems that cause harm to people and the earth. She contributes to the local newspaper and is an avid reader, explorer of trails and rivers, camper, vegetarian, music fan, and gardener.
